Que es Akshy

Akshy India is an NGO registered on January 21, 2007 as a non-lucrative association in the Spanish National Register of Associations in the Ministry of Home Affairs, reg. no. 588315, CIF V-84965912, and is recognized by the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID) whose main office is in San Lorenzo de El Escorial.

Akshy India is an Association having as its main object the improvement of the standard of living of the poorest children in all India through education, hygiene, adequate nourishment and health care.
These children, once they can read and write and with certain formation, will themselves be able to raise the standards of living of those around them. We place very special emphasis on the education of girls since they, as future mothers, will be in charge of passing on to their sons and daughters the importance of schooling and education.

While respecting all religions, the Association Akshy India is not attached to any specific denomination. It does, however, attempt to teach children the most important human value: a good heart.
We have 2 programmes:

Amwan programme and Khet programme.

Amwan programme.- for Dalits or untouchables whom we help through schooling.

Khet programme.- for children from the village of Khet, situated in the Himalayan Mts., who, due to their geographical isolation, have few opportunities to receive education.
