December 2010 : Akshy-India received the"Antonio Quijano" Award, awarded annually to various NGO's, to assist and support them in programs. With the donation we have received, we will provide coverage for the Nutrition Project for a full year

November 2010 : End of Literacy Project, and delivery of Diplomas. Through this program the students learned to read, write, basic math, and also learned about hygiene.

Agugust 2010 : Opening of a new delegation of Akshy-India in Vejer de la Frontera.

July 2010 : First "Reunión de Chicas". The workshop was titled "First Girls Meeting" and follow the topic was "The woman's menstrual cycle. " 20 girls attended school. The objective was to provide information, in an always delicate way, and respecting their culture.

April 2010: A meeting is held in Khet (Arunachal Pradesh) with the families of the children who study in Ooty and Sera.

February 20010: In Amwan, India, jointly with the Uruvela Rotary Club, we hold the First Meeting on Health and Hygiene, its slogan being “Clean Habits, Healthier Habits”.  Talks were given on measures of hygiene to be observed with children, how to prevent AIDS and the health risks involved in smoking and alcohol drinking.

December 2009:   Presentation of the Akshy-India Association in the House of Culture at San Lorenzo de El Escorial to describe the work we carry out in India, with photographs of our different activities - both the Amwan and the Khet programmes.

October 2009: Our Association incorporates the Khet programme - providing education for children coming from the tiny, isolated village of Khet in the Himalayas.

July 2009: A Beautician Workshop in the Akshy school is started for the older girls, thanks to a supporter´s donation.

July 2009: Solidarity garden-dinner, organized in the house of a friend of the Association, Conchi, with a concert of quartz bowls given by Delfinia.

June 2009: Together with other associations,  we attended the Solidarity Meeting in Santa Marta de Tormes (Salamanca), organized by the Tierno Galván Cultural Association and the Santa Marta de Tormes Local Council.

June 2009: For the 3rd. consecutive year we were present in the FIASGU (Industry and Crafts Fair of the Guadarrama Sierra).

March 2009: A solidarity dance performance given by Silvia Herraiz, Elena Terol and the pupils of the Piedra Luna School and Quimera in aid of Akshy-India.

March 2009: Commencement of our Nourishment Project, thanks to the generosity of the Madrid company, Sistema de Fijaciones.

January 2009:  The Rotary Club of Uruvela in Bodhgaya donated to the Akshy School medicines to help eradicate anemia and malnutrition in our children.

December 2008:  The San Lorenzo de El Escorial´s Cultural Dept. presented our Association with all funds raised in the Christmas Concert held in the San Lorenzo Theatre and Auditorium. We assigned them to our Literacy project.

December 2008: Concert in aid of Akshy-India with Ido-Segal and Niraj Kumar arranged by Elena Terol and held in the Piedra Luna Centre of El Escorial.

December  2008:  Solidarity biscuits: the pupils of the Women´s Social Activities Centre in San Lorenzo de El Escorial sold homemade biscuits,  all profits going to our Association.

November 2008: Reference to Akshy-India in the mid-day news programme of Telemadrid.

October 2008: Annual  reunion with sponsors, supporters and friends in the Women´s Centre for  Social Activities in San Lorenzo de El Escorial.

September 2008: First Solidarity Concert offered by Akshy-India in San Lorenzo de El Escorial.

August 2008: A full report on Akshy-India appears in the El Escorial newspaper “La Lonja Informativa”.

July 2008: The association Construyemundo provides us with the first draft of plans for the future school.

July 2008: Article in the digital news “El Telegráfo”.

July 2008: The prize was collected in Santa Marta de Tormes, being a cheque for 1,500 Euros and a sculpture of the Dove of Peace. Dinner and the press.  Articles in the Salamanca “Gazette” and “El Adelanto”.

July 2008: Akshy-India receives the Prize for Solidarity and Human Values awarded by the Tierno Galván Association of Santa Marta de Tormes (Salamanca) in its XIIth. Edition, with an article in the “Tribune” of Salamanca.

June 2008: Uniforms given to the children of the afternoon class.
